The HUB Prague

Our Customer

In this project, we worked for The HUB – a well-known network of coworking centers. The building  is used by companies and entrepreneurs and it includes a shared open space office, conference rooms and other necessities. The overall floor area is 900 sq.m.

Výsledky

We have assessed the condition of the interior by measuring some of the key parameters of interior microclimate that have a large influence on the workers and their work performance. We have come up with profiles of heat and humidity and CO2 concentration, including the way these values change in the course of a day. Similarly, we have also analyzed the lighting conditions, focusing on the amount of natural light in the daytime and on artificial light during the night.

The HUB

In our assessment we have also included subjective evaluation of the workers which we got from questionnaires distributed among more than half of the users of the HUB building. In this way, the client learned how the users themselves perceive the quality of the individual interior parameters and what changes they would like to see implemented in the building.

Using all the information gathered in the above mentioned way, we proposed changes in the interiors. We have suggested to install special plant species in the interior that help to get rid of the high CO2 levels in the air. Owing to this small investment with no increase in operating costs, the quality of the interior microclimate has increased significantly, the work performance in the environment has improved and the users feel now more comfortable in the building.

Having measured electricity consumption in the stand-by mode, we found out that a lot of power is spent on a printer – a problem we have solved by installing a timer. We have also counted the reduction in emmision of pollution (the operators of the HUB Prague building are very eco-conscious) and found out that by implementing the above mentioned changes, we have prevented 185 kg od CO2 from being emitted in the environment a year.
